TARA JOHNSON-MEDINGER
With over 15 years of experience in the film and television industry, Tara Johnson-Medinger has produced programs for a diverse range of clients, from national news corporations to independent underground short films. Tara's true love, however, is the film production process itself; national recognition is just the icing. Tara's films have been featured on the Independent Film Channel as well as selected for film festivals. Her most recent documentary, Military Families Speak Out - Oregon, has been applauded for telling the story of people who have relatives or loved ones in the military, but who are opposed to the continued occupation of Iraq. In the past few years, along with co-founding Sour Apple Productions and producing the company's first feature film, On the Eve of War, she has also overseen management of the 10 or Less Film Festival and POW Fest, the Portland Women's Film Festival. Tara is equally at home in the corridors of FOX Broadcasting Headquarters, where she was manager of affiliate promotion for six years, as she is at peace vigils or on military bases. She lives in Portland, Oregon with her husband Chris and their two children, Avery (5) and Quinlan (3).
